A Gaza school has been hit during Israeli bombing of the eastern part of the city, the Palestinian Ministry of Education said in a statement yesterday.

The ministry pointed out that the shelling came while high school students at Abdullah Bin Rawahah school, east of Deir El-Balah, were sitting their exams, no students were hurt.

The ministry has condemned the bombing, adding that Israel does not hesitate to target educational institutions in violation of international conventions.

It called on international agencies and human rights organisations to condemn the attack and punish Israel for its repeated crimes.

The exams committee at both the school and the ministry followed up on the matter and ensured the exams were completed as required.
