The Israeli Occupation Authorities have decided to release the soldier who was convicted for the killing of British peace activist Thomas Hurndall before serving his full imprisonment.

According to a report by the Israeli daily, Ha’aretz, the convicted soldier, Taysir Hayb, who was sentenced in 2005 to eight years will be released early next month.

Hayb had shot Hurndall (22 years) in the head in April  2003, while filming the activities of the International Solidarity Movement and helping Palestinian children avoid Israeli sniper fire.

A military commission decided to release the Hayb before the end of his sentence despite contrary to advice from the military prosecutor, Brigadier General Avishai Mendelblit.
