OIC condemns Israel's aggression against the Palestinians

The member states of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) have condemned the aggressive policies adopted by Israel against the Palestinian people, the latest of which is the decision to deport thousands of Palestinians from the occupied West Bank. The OIC considers this decision to be “an attempt to derail the peace process in the region”.

During the UN Security Council meeting on 14 April, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Bashar al-Ja’afari, said, “These violations are clear evidence of the Israeli policy of ethnic cleansing and Israel’s attempts to undermine the peace process and to hinder the international efforts which seek to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region.”

In a statement delivered on behalf of the OIC’s member states, al-Ja’afari called upon the Security Council to exert more pressure on Israel to stop its violations and to end its occupation of Palestinian and Arab territories in line with Security Council resolutions.
