Consumer price inflation in the Egyptian cities reaches 9.8%

The Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) said Thursday that consumer price inflation in Egyptian cities in March 2014 stood at 9.8 per cent on an annual basis, similar to February.


In November 2013, the inflation rate in Egypt reached its highest levels in four years, recording 13 per cent.

The CAPMAS said in a statement posted on its website that consumer price inflation in Egyptian cities reached 10.3 per cent in the first quarter of 2014 on an annual basis.
