The Independent Judiciary Front Against the Coup stressed on Tuesday that the results of the presidential elections, which brought Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi to Egypt’s presidency, are illegal and pledged to carry out a legal prosecution against members of the elections committee, Al-Alam Online news website reported.
The front noted that the elections committee had committed the crime of stealing the sovereignty of the people. It also criticised all parties and individuals who took part in disrupting the work of the Egyptian Constitution and undermining the work of the state’s institutions.
On the top of the list of those criticised were the judges, who defied the law, the Constitution and the will of the people in return for 34,000 Egyptian pounds for each one.
In addition, the front stressed that crowning Al-Sisi as president is illegal, and so is the coup as well as all of the following measures.
The front said that it would take the legal measures to prove the illegality and unconstitutionality of these measures. It reiterated that Mohamed Morsi continues to be the elected president of the country until now, because any laws constituted by coups are forceless.
It also said that removing Al-Sisi is a legal duty for everyone who is able to do so. The front stressed that all peaceful measures to regain the January 25 revolution and the authority of the people, and which rescue the army, are constitutional duties for every Egyptian.
