Saudi Arabia retreated to second place in a list of the world’s largest oil producers in 2014, beaten only by the US, Palestinian Al-Resalah newspaper reported yesterday.
According to EIA analysis, Saudi produced 11.6 million barrels of oil a day in 2014 while the United States produced 12.4 million barrels a day. Saudi was the world’s largest oil producer in 2013.
Russia came in third place, producing 10.6 million barrels a day.
The top ten also included China which produced 4.4 million barrels per day, Canada with 4 million and Iran with 3.2 barrels a day.
