Israel approves 1,500 housing units in Jerusalem

May 4, 2015 at 2:23 pm

Israeli media outlets have revealed that the Israeli government has approved the construction of 1,500 new housing units in the illegal settlement of Ramat Shlomo. The move rubber stamps the decision by the District Committee for Planning and Building to expand the settlement built on Palestinian-owned land in the north of Jerusalem.

According to Israel’s Channel Ten television, construction of the project had been postponed due to technical requests, including the construction of streets in the area. Now, however, such requests are no longer applicable and so the project is expected to be approved during the committee meeting on Monday.
