Houthi militias today began shelled the Saudi city of Najran, on the south-western border of Yemen.
According to witnesses, shelling began on the Saudi front and was reiterated by the Houthis.
In response to the shelling, Saudi schools have been closed and flights to and from the city have been suspended until further notice, state TV channel Al-Ekhbariya reported.
The attack was confirmed by the Saudi-led coalition that has been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthis and their allies in Yemen since 26 March.
The Kingdom is hosting a GCC summit in Riyadh today.
