The six-state Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states will meet in the Saudi capital Riyadh today to discuss regional developments, including the ongoing crisis in Yemen as well as Iran’s nuclear file.
The GCC Ministerial Council held a preparatory meeting in Riyadh last Thursday. Gulf media outlets said it was held under very critical conditions, particularly in terms of regional security issues.
The meeting is expected to result in a unified GCC position on several regional issues to be discussed with US President Barack Obama who is scheduled to meet Gulf leaders later this month in Camp David.
The meeting will also deal with the latest developments in Syria and the Palestinian issue as well as other Arab matters.
