PA: 'FIFI visit to Palestine a chance to sue occupation'

The expected visit of FIFA Chief Sepp Blatter to Palestine is a “chance to prosecute the Israeli occupation” for its continuous violations against Palestinians and Palestinian sport, Quds Press reported the Palestinian Authority saying.

In a statement issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Information, the PA said: “The visit will have a message that exceeds sport. It bears political implications that match the Palestinian efforts aiming to isolate the Israeli occupation.”

“The efforts of the Palestinian Football Federation, headed by Colonel General Jibreel Al-Rajoub, seeking the suspension of the Israeli FIFA membership is to remind the world of the Israeli violations against Palestinian sport.”

In addition, the statement called on people to remind the world about Israel’s exploitation of sport for the judaisation of Jerusalem. “This is represented in the international Israeli competitions held in the city that reinforce the idea that Jerusalem is a unified Israeli capital,” the statement said.
