Incitement campaign against Israeli-Arab MK taking part in Freedom Flotilla

After he announcement his intention to join the Gaza-bound Freedom Flotilla, Israeli-Arab Member of the Knesset Basel Ghattas has become the subject of a bloody Israeli incitement campaign, Arab48.com reported yesterday.

Both Israeli civilians and senior officials accused him of serving the enemy. “Ghattas is working for the service of our enemy under parliament impunity,” Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely said.

Speaking about the Flotilla, Hotovely said: “It is an incitement and Israeli is working to undermine its arrival into the Gaza Strip,” claiming that Palestinians are lying about the siege. She claimed that Israel allows all the necessary food and construction material into the Strip.

Meanwhile, former Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said: “Ghattas’s planned participation in the flotilla is further proof that the Joint [Arab] List is one big terrorist vessel, which is only meant to harm the State of Israel and use Israeli democracy to try to destroy it.”

Yisrael Beiteinu MK Sharon Gal added: “We need to wake up and take care of these phenomena with an iron fist.”
