Palestinian Prisoners’ Radio said on Monday that the new round of talks between Islamic Jihad prisoners inside Israel’s jails and the Israeli Prison Service has ended without any results.
The prisoners’ representatives stressed that all detainees’ organisation groups inside Israeli prisons are now “dissolved” as of Monday at 2pm.
About 120 Islamic Jihad prisoners being held by Israel started a hunger-strike several days ago, protesting against the authorities’ force-feeding policy, as well as to support Mohamed Allan, who has been on hunger strike for 57 consecutive days. Five days after the start of the major protest, 28 other prisoners joined and the total number of hunger strikers reached 148.
Prisoners from other factions have also warned that they will join the hunger strike if the Israeli occupation authorities refuse to fulfil the prisoners’ demands, such as ending solitary confinement and arbitrary movement between prisons.
