Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz has cancelled a planned trip to Egypt following disagreements between the two countries regarding issues affecting the region, Almesryoon.com reported political sources confirming yesterday.
According to Al-Quds Al-Arabi, the planned visit would never take place because of information leaked about Egyptian arrangements with the UAE which are not in favour of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Foreign Minsiter Adel Al-Jubeir denied that the Saudi King planned to visit Egypt on his way back from Washington to his vacation resort in Tangier, Morocco.
However, several Saudi, regional and international sources reported news about the planned visit and stated that King Salman would have discussed several issues with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi.
According to Almesryoon.com, one of the newspapers said that both leaders would have discussed the Egyptian proposal to form a united Arab force, but the Saudi King was angry with Egypt and the UAE because they had adopted a different approach for dealing with the Arab issues.
