72 students from Gaza travel through Erez Crossing

Some 72 Palestinian students travelled through the Erez Crossing from Gaza to Israel, the Anadolu Agency reported Palestinian sources saying yesterday.

Authorities in the occupied West Bank said this is part of the efforts being made to facilitate the travel of Palestinian students to attend universities abroad.

Gaza students normally travel through the Rafah Crossing between Gaza and Egypt but, since the ouster of the first freely elected Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi in 2013, it has become very difficult for Gazans to leave the beleaguered Strip.

Most of the Palestinians in Gaza prefer travelling via Rafah Crossing fearing arrest by the Israeli occupation if they travel via Erez.
