PKK terrorist attack martyrs two police officers and injures five others in Turkey

At least two police officers have been martyred and five others injured in a bomb-laden car attack in Turkey’s South Eastern province of Sirnak on Sunday, Anadolu Agency reported.

According to security sources, PKK terrorists attacked police officers with a bomb-laden car and long-barreled weapons at 5.30 a.m. local time (02:30GMT) on the Sirnak-Uludere highway.

The wounded were taken to Sirnak State Hospital.

Sources added that six terrorists were also killed after the attack.

An air-assisted operation has been launched in the region to apprehend the terrorists.

Turkey has seen a surge in violence since the PKK terrorist organization resumed its armed campaign at the end of July. More than 100 Turkish security personnel have been martyred in attacks mainly in Turkey’s South Eastern provinces.

Meanwhile, in Turkey’s South Eastern province of Diyarbakir, one police officer was martyred and another one injured in another attack by PKK terrorist organization on Sunday.
