Palestinians protest against Israeli attacks on Al-Aqsa

September 14, 2015 at 2:16 pm

Scores of Palestinians demonstrated yesterday morning in the West Bank city of Ramallah, while hundreds more protested in the evening in the Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis, against the Israeli desecrations and violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Quds Press and agencies reported.

Protesters in both cities condemned the Israeli violations against the Islam’s third holiest site.

They also rejected the Israeli plan to partition the mosque, calling for all Palestinian parties to take responsibility for protecting Islamic sites in Jerusalem and to take action against the Judaisation of the holy city.

They also called for the Arab and the international community to protect Jerusalem and both the Islamic and Christian holy sites in the city, stressing that Jerusalem, like any other city, is Palestinian.

Coordinator of the Palestinian parties in Ramallah Issam Abu-Baker said: “We are facing a new phase of open confrontation with the Israeli occupation represented in a religious war ignited by the extremist Israeli settlers.”

He stressed that the Palestinians would not remain silent towards the violations by “Israeli extremism”, warning that Israel is attempting to partition the mosque.

Dozens of Palestinians were injured on Monday after Israeli security forces attacked Muslim worshippers inside occupied East Jerusalem’s flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, according to witnesses.
