Hamas calls for meeting of PLO leadership

Hamas representative in Lebanonm Ali Baraka yesterday stressed that the Palestinian people will not allow the Israeli occupation to partition Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling on the PLO to convene to lay out a strategy for the Palestinian resistance, Quds Press reported.

Baraka said: “Palestinians will not remain silent regarding the continuous Zionist aggression on Al-Aqsa Mosque. We will not allow the Israeli government to partition the mosque.”

He stressed on the need for Palestinian national unity, as well as Arabic and Islamic support to keep the current uprising going and achieve the Palestinian goals which are liberating Palestine and achieving independence.

Baraka called for the PLO to convene in order to put together an united strategy for the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation, stressing on the need for an Arabic and Islamic support network, as well as the importance of lifting the siege on the Gaza Strip.

Reports yesterday claimed the PLO had dispatched a delegation to meet with Hamas officials in Gaza however Hamas spokesman Sami Abu-Zuhri denied the claims, telling the Safa news agency: “No one has told us about any PLO meeting with us.”
