Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Allam Mousa yesterday near the city of Nablus, north of the West Bank.
The Palestinian government Thursday said in a statement that Israeli settlers smashed the Mousa’s car windows with stones while he was on his way from Ramallah to his home in Nablus.
The statement added that the settlers’ assault on the minister is evidence of the settlers’ indiscriminate targeting of Palestinians.
The government renewed its calls on the international community for immediate intervention to stop the Israeli occupation and settlers’ abuses and crimes against the Palestinian people.
The West Bank and East Jerusalem have witnessed tensions between the Israeli security forces and settlers and Palestinians for over a week now during which five Palestinians have been killed.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Monday that his government has decided to reinforce its troops in the West Bank and Jerusalem and will allow the security forces to act firmly against “stone throwers”.
