Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday approved a series of sanctions against Palestinians aiming to stop “security incidents”, QudsNet reported.
The website reported Israeli TV Channel 2 saying: “In a meeting with the leaders of the security services this evening [Tuesday], the Israeli PM agreed on a series of measures to stop the Palestinian attacks against Israeli citizens.”
The measures include calling up reservists to bolster police numbers in Israeli cities. In addition to the immediate destruction of the houses of Palestinians who attack Israelis and revoking Israeli IDs from Arab Israeli attackers and their families.
Israeli Channel 10 said: “The Israeli cabinet is studying a plan to deploy Israeli forces at the entrance of the Palestinian neighbourhoods in Jerusalem to prevent Palestinians from infiltrating Israeli areas.”
Palestinian news agency Safa today reported that the Israeli forces have already been deployed at the entrances of Arab neighbourhoods.
Speaking to Israeli Members of the Knesset, Netanyahu pledged to take “unprecedented measures” against Palestinian fighters.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu called on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to “stop incitement against Israel.” However, he blamed the PA, Hamas and the Islamic Movement in Israel for inciting Palestinians against Israel.
