Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that the Islamic republic will witness an increase in domestic production within the next few months and an economic boom once sanctions are lifted.
“After the sanctions relief,” he claimed on live television, “we will enter a competitive international atmosphere.” This, he added, will create “new activities and more cooperation with the world.”
Rouhani pointed out that the historic nuclear agreement between his country and the world powers will come into force next week. Iran signed a nuclear agreement on 14 July with the P5+1 countries (China, Russia, France, the US and Britain, plus Germany) which aims to curb Iran’s nuclear programme in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions.
