400 Palestinian boys being held in Israeli jails

Some 400 Palestinian boys are being held in Israeli jails, the Palestinian Prisoners Club (PPC) revealed yesterday.

Quds Press reported the PPC saying the number of Palestinian boys being held at Ofer Prison has sharply increased to 187 since the start of October.

Some 151 boys were arrested in October alone while a further 36 have been held since the start of November.

The increased prisoner numbers has led to overcrowding in the prisons, causing the boys to suffer from ill health.

The PPC documented that 58 boys were tortured and beaten during or after their arrest and four were wounded by live bullets when they were arrested and have not received proper medical care.
