The Award-Winning Arab Film Days will open on Friday in the Algerian city of Constantine, the event’s Commissioner Brahim Seddiki said yesterday.

During a press conference, Seddiki said the event will allow cinema enthusiasts to discover the best Arab films which have received awards in a number of international film festivals.

Seddiki added that the event is part of “Constantine, Capital of Arab Culture 2015”, and that the selected films are the work of filmmakers from several Arab countries, including Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Mauritania, Lebanon, Iraq and Algeria.

Constantine was chosen as Capital of Arab Culture 2015 by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO) in 2012.
