Senior Hamas officials and MP Ismail Al-Ashqar said on Tuesday that the Palestinian Authority’s rejection of Turkish efforts to lift the siege on Gaza reflects its support for it, Al-Resalah newspaper reported.
“PA and Fatah’s claims that Turkey is planning to dominate the Gaza Strip throughout its efforts to lift the siege…are baseless claims,” he added.
Al-Ashqar said that his movement welcomes any efforts to break the siege that has been imposed on Gaza for nine years.
PA official and member of Fatah Central Committee Mohamed Ishtea accused Turkey of planning to dominate Gaza via its efforts to lift the siege.
The end of the blockade is one of three conditions Turkey has set out before it will restore diplomatic relations with Israel.
