Germany yesterday dispatched 100 troops to Turkey to oversee the Tornados which will carry out reconnaissance missions in Syria as part of Berlin’s support for the anti-Daesh coalition, Anadolu reported.
A German army spokesman said that the troops, including technicians and experts, took off from Hamburg Airport.
He added that four Tornados would be sent to Turkey today to carry out missions against Daesh posts. They are expected to start their work in mid-January.
The German Federal Council agreed in December to allow 1,200 troops to oversee the Tornados taking part in the war against Daesh, in addition to the frigate which is guarding a French aircraft carrier for one year.
