Around 25 schools in Syrian opposition-held areas have been targeted by Russian warplanes in recent months, according to the interim Syrian government.

The interim government said this week that Russian airstrikes are primarily targeting moderate opposition-held areas and are generally not attacking Daesh.
Russian airstrikes have intensified on the cities of Idlib, Aleppo, Hama and Homs, in addition to rural areas in Latakia, Daraa and southern Damascus.
The indiscriminate airstrikes have leveled mosques, hospitals, bakeries and schools.
The ongoing Syrian civil war has left more than 250,000 people dead and has turned the country into the world’s single-largest source of refugees and displaced persons, according to UN figures.
