The Turkish and Palestinian Ministries of Education have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of education in the context of reinforcing relations between the two sides.

The agreement was signed by the Turkish Minister of Education, Nabi Avci, and his Palestinian counterpart, Sabri Saidam, at the ministry headquarters in Ankara.

In his speech during the signing ceremony, Avci said: “We will push our relations with our Palestinian brethren on all educational levels forwards by means of the cooperation agreement we will sign,” referring to the fact that 484 Palestinian students are enrolled in higher education in Turkey.

Saidam expressed his gratitude to Turkey for its warm welcome and generous hospitality, saying: “When we visit Turkey, we feel like we are visiting our home,” adding: “Education is considered one of the most important sectors in our struggle for liberty.”
