Israel: Arab states are planning to get nuclear weapons

Arab states are planning to get nuclear weapons in the wake of the latest Iranian nuclear deal, AlKhaleejonline.com reported Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Ya’alon saying yesterday.

“There are indications that a number of Arab countries are seeking to get nuclear weapons in order not to remain cross-armed in front of Iran’s increasing nuclear abilities,” Israeli radio reported Ya’alon saying.

The minister, who took part in the International Security Conference which was held in Munich, Germany, pointed out: “For this reason, more pressure must be put on the Iranian regime regarding the observation of its nuclear programme, rocket development and arms distribution.”

Last year, Iran reached a deal with world powers to refrain from producing nuclear weapons in return for lifting international sanctions.
