Saudi welcomes steps taken to begin truce talks to end the conflict in Yemen, the spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition said.

Reports have been circulating that Houthis have entered Saudi to discuss an end to the conflict however General Ahmed Asiri said no negotiations are taking place with any party which is not directly connected with the legitimate government and the UN.

Yemen’s Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mekhlafi confirmed this during an interview with Gulf News yesterday.

He added: “We wish for international relief organisations to return to deliver aid to Taiz.”
