Saudi Ambassador Ahmed Bin Abdul-Aziz Qattan has boycotted the speech of the Iraqi foreign minister at the Arab League in Cairo, AlKhaleejonline.com reported on Friday.
The Saudi official and his delegation left the main hall of the organisation when Ibrahim Al-Ja’fari stood to announce his rejection of labelling Lebanon’s Hezbollah as a terrorist organisation.

“The Popular Mobilisation Forces and Hezbollah maintain the dignity of the Arabs,” claimed Al-Ja’fari. “The terrorists are those who accuse them of being terrorists.”
Earlier this month, the Gulf Cooperation Council labelled Hezbollah as a terrorist organisation due to its role in the fighting in Syria and Yemen. This followed a move by Saudi Arabia to cut its financial support for the Lebanese army due to the “dominance of Hezbollah over the Lebanese state and control of its decisions.”
