Russia has sent explosives experts to the Syrian city Palmyra after the regime forces regained control of it from Daesh.
Russian media pointed out that a team of 50 experts arrived in Palmyra, including trainers of mine detection dogs, in order to remove explosives from the archaeological areas.
President Vladimir Putin announced on Sunday that Russia would provide the Syrian regime help to remove mines from the city after regime forces, backed by Russian air cover, took control of the area.
Fierce battles have been waged between regime forces and Daesh for over a month, they resulted in the death and injury of scores of fighters on both sides, including high-ranking officers from the regime.
Daesh took control of Palmyra in May 2015 after the withdrawal of Syrian regime forces.
