Turkey detains Syrians who 'planned to attack Ankara'

Turkish police have arrested four Syrians suspected of being ISIS members and of preparing for an attack on May Day celebrations in the capital Ankara, according to Anadolu Agency.

The Turkish news agency said that the Syrians have been in Ankara for some time, without giving further details.

On the other hand, Turkish warplanes bombed an explosive factory, which is likely to be belonging to the terrorist organisation ISIS inside Syrian territory, according to Sky News Arabia’s correspondent who cited Turkish sources.

The Turkish shelling comes in the aftermath of the fall of more than one missile on Turkish cities bordering Syria. Ankara says that ISIS was behind the missiles that struck its borders.

In the Turkish city of Gaziantep, security sources said that a car bomb targeted the main police station, resulting in the death of two policemen and injury of 23 others.

Turkey is in a state of high alert after experiencing a series of violent attacks that were attributed to Daesh. The attacks mainly targeted Istanbul and Ankara.
