Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said yesterday that the Israeli army will continue to make “every effort” to monitor tunnels coming from the Gaza Strip.
He stressed that Israel “is not interested in escalating the situation in the south,” but it will not hesitate to take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of its citizens.
A state of relative calm has prevailed in the Gaza Strip since Saturday morning, after days of tension that witnessed the launch of Israeli army raids on the Gaza Strip, as well as the firing of rockets from within the sector at the troops.
