Israel bans freed Palestinian prisoner from university

May 10, 2016 at 9:04 am

Israel is depriving freed Palestinian prisoner Islam Qadah, 21, of completing her university degree, Quds Press reported yesterday.

The news site reported that the Israeli occupation handed over a ban warning Qadah not to approach the Palestinian town of Bierzeit, where her university is located, for five months.

Qadah was summoned and interrogated by Israeli authorities a month ago, this came after she had spent three months under administrative detention in Israeli jails.

She was released from administration detention in March after spending three months in Damon Prison.

A third-year university student in the English Department of the Faculty of Art at Birzeit University, Qadah also held the position of Student Union’s secretary representing the Islamic Bloc.
