PA denies coming to a security understanding with Israel

Spokesman of the Palestinian Authority (PA) Security Services Adnan Al-Damiri yesterday denied agreeing to replace Israeli security staff in West Bank cities with Palestinians, Quds Press reported.

Speaking to the news site, Al-Damiri said: “This is false news circulated by the Israeli media, which is not credible and we do not consider it a source of information.”

“Our aim in our country is to end the occupation, not to decorate it. For us, we are an executive body directed by political decisions.”

He called for the Palestinian, Arabic and international media to fact-check before reporting such stories.

He reiterated that the sources which report and spread such news are pushed by “political rivalry”.

Local media had reported yesterday that the PA agreed with Israel to increase its security staff in West Bank cities in return for a reduction in the number of Israeli security staff in the area to stop Israel storming the cities.
