Italy: Libyan unity government ‘very fragile’

Italian Defence Minister Roberta Pinotti has described the Libyan unity government led by Fayez Al-Sarraj as “very fragile”, the Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.

She added that the government “lacks an important measure which is approval by the parliament in Tobruk [led by renegade Colonel Khalifa Haftar in the east of the country].”

“In this regard all [Libyan] sides, which were not included in the political process, have to be included.”

Pinotti reiterated the importance of fighting terror through intensifying cooperation and coordination among the Italian defence minister, intelligence, police and judiciary.
