Kuwait’s supreme court on Monday upheld the death sentence against the main suspect in last year’s suicide bombing of a mosque in the capital that killed 26 people.
The court confirmed the sentence of capital punishment passed on Abdulrahman Sabah Saud, a stateless man who drove the Saudi suicide bomber to the mosque.
The court also upheld jail terms of between two and 15 years for eight people, including four women, and acquitted 15 others including three women.
The court has also upheld commuting the death penalty against Fahd Faraj Nassar Muharib to 15 years in prison and to deport him from the country after that.
Daesh claimed responsibility for the suicide attack against the Imam Sadiq Mosque in Kuwait City in June last year.
