Bennett's party to quit government if two-state solution adopted

June 1, 2016 at 12:26 pm

Israel’s Jewish Home party warned that it would quit the government if the two-state solution was adopted, pushing the administration to dissolve, Quds Press reported.

“I will say the obvious: As long as we are in the government, there will be no Palestinian state, there will be no settlement evacuations and we will not give any land to our enemies,” Justice Minister and Jewish Home member Ayelet Shaked said yesterday.

The leader of the right-wing party, Education Minister Naftali Bennett, added that “everyone who is opposed to dividing Jerusalem and building a Palestinian state… don’t worry: we’re here.”

Jewish Home has eight seats in government and has recently joined the coalition government. If the party quits the coalition would hold only 58 seats of the 120 in government forcing it to dissolve.
