Hamas, Islamic Jihad discuss latest developments

Hamas Deputy Chief Mousa Abu-Marzouq yesterday held “in-depth” discussions with the secretary-general of Islamic Jihad regarding the latest Palestinian developments, QudsNet reported.

Members of both organisations attended the meeting and discussed the internal Palestinian reconciliation, the Jerusalem Intifada, mechanisms to lift the siege on Gaza, the peace process and the role of the Arab and Muslim nations in supporting the Palestinian cause.

Both sides reiterated the importance of activate communication and cooperation among all Palestinian resistance movements, both in Palestine and in the diaspora, in order to protect the Palestinian issue.

They called for conducting a comprehensive dialogue to end internal divisions and agree on a united strategic plan to face the Israeli occupation.
