Hamas: ‘No obstacle ahead of internal reconciliation’

Hamas Deputy Chief Musa Abu Marzouq said on Monday that there are “no obstacles ahead of internal reconciliation”, calling on Fatah to seize the opportunity and announce its acceptance during an upcoming meeting, Quds Press reported.

Abu Marzouq reiterated that there are “no outstanding issues” between the main two Palestinian factions regarding the reconciliation, but he noted that the reconciliation needed a “courageous decision” from Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas.

He said that the issue of forming the government was sorted out as “we agreed to respect the PLO’s previous agreements without recognising Israel”.

Meanwhile, Abu Marzouq called for all Arabs to put down their arms, solve their internal disputes peacefully and pay attention to the Israeli occupation, which is their “common enemy”.

Regarding Iran, he said: “We and Iran belong to the same Ummah, but with different ethnicities. No one can change the geographic facts. Therefore, we have to work together in order to avoid differences.”
