Russian FM says Israel ready to accept Arab Peace Initiative unchanged

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is ready to accept the Arab Peace Initiative, without any modifications.

“I see hope in the fact that Prime Minister Netanyahu referred yesterday during his meeting with Putin to the Arab Peace Initiative as a positive step that could greatly help,” Lavrov said.

The foreign minister claimed that he had not heard Netanyahu demand any amendments to the peace initiative.

Lavrov noted that after this, it is possible to consider details of the next steps in order to develop the Israeli-Palestinian and Israeli-Arab peace settlements.
