Former Israeli general calls on Tel Aviv to oust Assad

Former Israeli Air Force General Amos Yadlin called on Israel to oust Syrian regime President Bashar Al-Assad and to take action against the extremist axis in the region which is led by Iran, Moheet reported the World Tribune yesterday.

According to the report, Yadlin said in a note for the Security Studies Institute that this axis believes in the strategic goal of destroying Israel, noting that it is the “biggest danger that Israel faces today.”

Yadlin, who served as a military attaché to Washington and director of the Israeli military intelligence services, refers to the parts of Syria and Lebanon controlled by Al-Assad and Hezbollah who are supported by Iran.

He said that the axis’ current military abilities, in addition to the scientific and industrial abilities which it acquires proves that it is a regional power.

As a counter measure, Yadlin said that Israel could cooperate with others, including the super powers, in order to combat this problematic development.
