Hamas condemned on Sunday remarks delivered by the Saudi Emir Turki al-Faisal who accused Hamas and Islamic Jihad of spreading chaos, Quds Press reported.

“These are lies and baseless remarks,” Hamas said in a statement reported by Quds Press and other news agencies.

“Everyone knows that Hamas is a Palestinian movement fighting the Zionist occupation in the land of Palestine and has only Palestinian agendas,” the statement said, noting that Hamas “adopts the concept of moderate Islam”.

Hamas also accused Al-Faisal of delivering remarks that serve the “Zionist occupation that provide further pretexts to carry out aggression against the Palestinians”.

Islamic Jihad also condemned the remarks.

During a conference for the Iranian opposition held in Paris on Saturday, Al-Faisal, who served the chief of Saudi intelligence in the past, accused Hamas and Islamic Jihad of adherence to Iran and seeking to export its revolution to the region, spreading chaos and instability.
