Four Gazans wounded in clashes between Abbas, Dahlan supporters

Four Palestinians were wounded yesterday during clashes between supporters of Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas and expelled senior Fatah official Mohamed Dahlan, Felesteen newspaper reported.

Palestinian medical sources in Gaza said that the four sustained moderate to serious injuries and were rushed to Al-Shifa Hospital.

Eyewitnesses said clashes erupted during a meeting of Fatah members and leaders held to discuss the upcoming local elections due to be held in October.

Fights broke up and he tensions escalated until batons were used. Police arrived on the scene and arrested a number of people.

Police issued no comments regarding the event.
