The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt yesterday denied allegations that it would kill Iraqi Defence Minister Khaled Al-Obeidi if he continued to disclose corruption files in his country.
On Wednesday, Al-Obeidi published a statement by the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Iraq in which they threatened to kill him if he continued to reveal corruption files related to parliament speaker Salim Al-Jubouri or any other members of the group.
In response, spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt said media outlets have fabricated a poorly-worded statement which falsely alleges that the Muslim Brotherhood accused Al-Obeidi of infidelity and threatened to kill him.
They added that no such statement was made and this is being falsely linked to them.
