Two Israelis stabbed a Palestinian in several parts of his body in the village Idhna near Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank yesterday evening, in what was reportedly a dispute over a business transaction.
The case is being treated by Israeli police as a “purely criminal”.
Local sources said that two Israelis had chased 25-year-old Murad Jamal Tomeizi at the entrance to the village before stabbing him repeatedly.
Medical sources from Al-Ahli Hospital in Hebron said Tomeizi arrived in the hospital with several stab wounds in his chest, back and extremities. He is now in a stable condition.
Israeli police spokeswoman Luba Al-Samri said in a statement that the two Israelis, from the city of Ashkelon in southern Israel, were suspected of stabbing Tomeizi after what she described as a dispute over Tomeizi fixing their car.
She added that the case was being treated as “purely criminal” and that investigations were ongoing.
