The Palestinian Ministry of Education yesterday condemned an Israeli decision to exclude the Palestinian National Education book for second graders from the syllabus of Palestinian schools in occupied Jerusalem, QudsNet reported.
The Israeli occupation authorities claim the content of the Palestinian National Education book does not match the vision of the Israeli education ministry.
In a statement, the Palestinian ministry also rejected the notice of the Israeli municipality in Jerusalem that the Palestinian schools have to break during the Israeli spring holiday. The ministry noted that this would negatively affect the examination of high school students.
The Palestinian ministry said that these Israeli practices keep up with the continuous Israeli war which targets Palestinian education system, its syllabus and the Palestinian identity.
They are “flagrant violations” of all international conventions and laws which guarantee the right of education.
Meanwhile, the ministry called for all the people, partners and activists to highlight the Israeli practices and policies against Palestinian children in Jerusalem.
