Israeli forces arrested 450 Palestinians in September

Israeli occupation forces arrested 450 Palestinians during September, according to statistics published by the Palestinian Centre for Prisoners Studies.

Those arrested included 75 Palestinian children, the youngest of whom was 12-years-old.

The Jerusalem and Hebron regions saw the highest number of arrests, the centre said, and there were also eight arrested in the Gaza Strip, including six fishermen.

In addition, the Israeli occupation authorities issued 122 administrative detention orders in September – 44 new ones and 78 renewals. The Israeli military uses administrative detention orders to hold Palestinians without charge or trial for indefinitely renewable periods.

There has been a dramatic increase in the number of arrests and detentions since the start of the Jerusalem Intifada in October 2015.
