Russia announced, on Tuesday, that its embassy in Damascus was shelled by mortar fire.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry statement, one of the shells landed near a residential building of the embassy compound; pointing out that nobody was injured, but a material damage to the embassy building was occurred.
“According to reports, the shelling came from the Jobar neighborhood of Damascus, which is under control of the terrorist groups Jabhat Fateh al-Sham and Failak ar-Rahman,” the ministry said.
