More than 50 Israeli attacks on Gaza in October

Israeli forces carried out more than 50 attacks on the Gaza Strip in October, according to the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR).

Out of 57 total incidents, there were 20 shelling attacks and 27 shootings, in addition to seven separate incursions into the area near the Gaza border fence.

The vast majority of these attacks occurred in the so-called “buffer zone”, land inside the Gaza Strip where Palestinian farmers, protesters and other civilians are routinely attacked.

Of the 57 incidents, 12 took place at sea, where Palestinian fishermen are routinely harassed and shot at while working inside Gaza’s waters.

October’s attacks injured six Palestinians and led to eight incidents of property damage and one of property confiscation.

The figures also include three detention incidents (where a total of four Palestinians were detained), in addition to the arrest of two Palestinian traders at the Israeli-controlled Erez crossing.
