Saudi Arabia and Amazon have been exploring investment opportunities during a meeting in Riyadh yesterday.

Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, who is also the Defence Minister, received Jeff Bezos, the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Amazon.

The two discussed areas of cooperation and investment opportunities available in Saudi Arabia as part of the Gulf kingdom’s economic development plan, known as “Vision 2030”.

Saudi Arabia has embarked on a bold plan to reduce the kingdom’s reliance on oil by 2030. It has created the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund, valued at $2 trillion, and is seeking to increase its revenues away from the oil sector.
